Iran now facing internal dissent

It is clear that Iran has popular deep dissent among its most educated nationals.

Sadly, the “old guard”, bereft of real enlightenment and answers, seems intent on leading Iran into direct confrontation with much of the free World.

Iran’s religious bigots with their complete intolerance to the thinking of much of the World is clearly cementing its position. This hard line attitude could well lead to a World War where there will be no “winners”. The crazed religious attitude of these zealots would see their demise as some great fulfillment as they drag the World into violence and destruction.

Here is hoping the Iran’s reformists can gather enough strength to overthrow the current war mongering Iran leadership.

As the World faces a crisis we must question WHY?

Our wonderful World

Our wonderful World

The World is suffering a big dose of indigestion – no question, and this from years of watching bloated companies, executives and captains of industry feeding excessively on the rich pickings at their disposal.
Here in New Zealand, this week, we saw one of the leading electrical power generators receiving a proverbial roasting as its directors sought yet another massive pay increase. Many of this company’s clients are elderly and poor labouring under ever-increasing power charges. The public are now fighting back – bravo!
It is greed that got us collectively into this mess and we all too must share some of the blame. We sought the consumer products in a lavish way, we wasted, we abused our environment, we paid lip-service to the destitute of this World, we uttered platitudes but didn’t really want to change our very comfortable ways – now we are paying the price.
For years our increasingly wrecked environment has been ignored, as have social injustices round the World, as has the plight of so many poor children. We ate, we supped, we partied and we even voted for politicians who lied and led us completely astray.
Our present collective pain maybe is what we have to endure to initiate the makings of a more sustainable future. If we can achieve that I hear the young all singing in chorus – amen.

Inspiration – we need it bad in these troubled times

It’s a day and age when we are all confronted by increasing pressure as well as change and we need to feed the soul to survive. Emotional wrecks are plentiful as people fail to cope.

Here is a site with some thoughts which may help.

Good wishes to you my friends – let’s strive to bring more enlightened outcomes.

Recycling doesn’t mean just shifting a huge problem!

We are simply shifting a disaster rather than solving one!

The World is being deceived as recycling intentions are not met by reality.

Big business, yet again, is getting its grubby hands into the “cookie jar” – BIG time!

Honest efforts on the part of the public are being prostituted by those who are simply not fulfilling the expectations and intentions of those trying to address the critical environmental woes besetting us all.

We are shifting the pollution of the developed countries into the environment of the under-developed countries thus causing the same environmental woes and in the process, because of primitive working conditions, aggravating the health problems for lowly paid, and child, workers!

This cannot continue we have to expose the charade and address waste and recycling in a more enlightened way!

The sub-standard Chinese products & scams threaten consumers!

The poisoned food scare grows deeper and deeper – many of the World’s major companies who rushed to China to gain bigger profits are now reeling. These companies tended to put profit before people and it has, deservedly, come back to bite them in the backside – BIG time!

Sadly, as is often the case, it is the poor innocents that pay the biggest price!

Here in New Zealand one of our largest companies which normally offers superb products has been implicated by virtue of its major shareholding in a major Chinese company. Now, Fonterra the New Zealand company, is in full-blown damage control after huge financial and market implications.

It is clear they prejudiced their ability to keep standards high in the Chinese product because they were too busy reeling-in the huge financial advantages of involvement in China.

Also now clear is that, lacking the direct control by Fonterra in the day-to-day quality checks, the profligate elements in China implemented a regime that that country has perfected – FAKE!

Now address that to the aggrieved and grievously affected parties after “the horse has bolted”!

Darfur cannot be forgotten as China supports a rotten regime!

It is too easy, as we get absorbed in our own problems, to ignore the poor wretches in Darfur who have been suffering sheer hell for many years. Somehow within the bounds of our ability to act, we have to demand solutions and this will only come about if we demand better from our politicians.

Simply allowing continuing genocide of totally vulnerable people is not an option – neither is our continuing tolerance of leaders who enjoy a procession of ineffective, expensive “talkfests” as the Darfur families try to scratch a living in arid deserts under the barrels of waiting guns and threats from raping and murderous zealots doing the dirty work for despot, corrupt leaders.

If we can ignore that treatment to despairing families we deserve to reap the whirlwind ourselves!

There is no doubt that China is the villain in propping up a rotten regime in Darfur and, given China’s increasing power in the World, it is a sobering reminder that the World is on the lip of a disaster Worldwide.

China for all its glitter and pomp at the Olympics is like the young lady who lip-synched for the “less attractive”  lady who sang but was not recognised – a sham!

Given their record, China has little virtue to offer the World and even less for humanity and principle!

A step in the right direction – bravo!

It is pleasing to see that airlines are becoming pro-active in the manner in which they operate. Air New Zealand is proving that even subtle changes in procedure can produce significant gains and when multiplied throughout the World this has to be a good start.

The real revolution, however, is not in the modus operandi but rather the fact that attitudes are changing – that’s the major step forward.
